The incident took place on Saturday morning, 10 November, in Świętoszów (Osiecznica municipality). The driver of a Chevrolet, a 23-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County, braked sharply while trying to avoid a cat running across the road and skidded. The car left the road and hit a tree.
The vehicle caught fire. Two people were injured: the driver and a 17-year-old Chevrolet passenger from Lwówek County.
The driver suffered a pelvic injury, while the passenger sustained a spinal injury. Both were taken to hospital.
