The round-the-world journey undertaken by Paweł Maczel and Piotr Mazurkiewicz lasted 224 days. The former comes from Bolesławiec, while the latter is from Mogilno. The course of their journey could be followed live on their website. The travelers are now preparing photos from the last 9 weeks. The accounts will also be supplemented soon.

Boleslawiec.org: How do your friends react? What do they say?

Piotr: They congratulate us on the idea and on managing to carry it out. They say it is the journey of our lives. They ask what it is like in different countries.
Paweł: They also ask where it was dangerous, how we communicated, and where we would like to live.
Piotr: My friends ask where the best girls are.

B.org: And where are they?

Piotr: In Costa Rica. They have dark complexions, sexy looks, and are interesting and shapely. They speak Spanish. If one of them speaks English with a Spanish accent, it knocks you off your feet.

B.org: And what dangers did you face?

Paweł: None, really. I stepped on some kind of sea urchin in the Indian Ocean. Its spines got stuck in my foot. We needed lemons, whose juice had to be dripped onto the injured spot for several hours.
Piotr: I did not have any dangerous situations. I wanted to see a tiger in the jungle, but I encountered several snakes and a rat. Cheap beer in Saigon—3 liters for a dollar—can lead to alcoholism.

B.org: How much did your journey cost?

Paweł: 6,000 dollars per person. This includes flights, insurance, and preparations for the journey.
Piotr: In other words, everything from the idea to our return. We worked for it for 13 months in London.

B.org: Did you have an idea that prompted you to set out into the world?

Paweł: It was a challenge we wanted to face. We wanted to show that it is not so difficult. Above all, we wanted to see what the world looks like. We went with the flow. It was very exciting.
Piotr: For me, it was a year of taking it easy. I did not have to worry about getting up for work in the morning. Sightseeing and partying for 8 months.

B.org: Did you come across a place where you would like to spend your life?

Piotr: Yes. For me, Thailand is the best. It is warm, there are beautiful beaches, blue water, good food, and beautiful women. The only place in the world with great beach parties. I highly recommend it.
Paweł: For me, Poland is the place where I would like to spend my life. I have many reasons for this, and I am ready to face our gray reality. As for the countries along the route, I would point to Costa Rica. The greenest country. The Pacific in the south, the Caribbean in the north. Very kind people with honor. Costa Rica has beautiful horses and mountains. There is a microclimate in the mountains: when it is hot on the coast, it is cool there. The women are great too, as in Thailand, but not as great as Polish women.

B.org: Will you travel anywhere together again?

Piotr: We are not planning to in the near future.
Paweł: It is time to take care of a girlfriend and work; we need to stay home for a while.
