The 100th Anniversary of Regaining Independence forest-planting campaign took place on October 26.

At the invitation of the Świętoszów Forest District, the event was attended by commune head Waldemar Nalazek together with employees of the Municipal Office and the head of the Housing and Municipal Management Plant in Osiecznica.

As we read on the Facebook profile of Gminy Osiecznica:

The aim of the campaign was to commemorate people and honor the events connected with the Republic of Poland regaining independence in 1918. Initiatives of this kind have a community-oriented character, aim to protect the environment and help maintain clean air.

The local government officials add:

The forest planted together will be a living monument commemorating this anniversary, so important to Polish history. The forest-planting site was chosen deliberately—it is a wooded area near Świętoszów, frequently visited by residents and guests. It is adjacent to both educational trails and cycling routes.
