On Monday, October 29, county officials approved the quality of the work on the road section between the Bolesławiec bypass and Stare Jaroszowice (Bolesławiec municipality). “As promised to the residents of Stare Jaroszowice, we completed a 650-meter section of the road from the bypass,” says Bolesławiec County Executive Karol Stasik. “We started at the beginning, guided by common sense and the public good, because this was the section where the road was in the worst technical condition.”
He added:
I hope that in the coming years the County will also approach the Municipality of Bolesławiec and Bolesławiec Municipal Commune to ask them to contribute to this investment. I also hope that the residents of Stare Jaroszowice will remind local-government officials about this project.
The entire road from the bypass to Stare Jaroszowice is approximately 4 kilometers long, so about 3.2–3.3 km remains to be renovated.
“This is the last county road project scheduled for this year,” emphasizes Deputy County Executive Tomasz Gabrysiak. “We hope that in the coming years we will be able to complete the entire road.”
Krzysztof Pietkiewicz, a resident of the village mentioned above who began the “fight for this road”:
We are grateful to the county executive for doing what he promised. But both the commune head and the mayor promised that they would contribute to this road as well. We are counting on it; we will follow and monitor the matter. And we will definitely achieve our goal.
He added: “There have been claims that this is not a road for Bolesławiec residents. But children travel along it, and Bolesławiec residents have families in Stare Jaroszowice and Żeliszów. Therefore, this road must be safe.”
