On Tuesday, 14 April, Robert Relich, mayor of Nowogrodziec, and Masaki Suzuki, president of TBAI Poland (a joint venture between Toyota Boshoku Corporation and Aisin Seiki Co., Ltd.), signed a notarial deed under which the company acquired a plot of more than seven hectares in the area of the Kamienna Góra economic zone.
Negotiations with the Japanese company had been ongoing since December 2007. The company considered two locations: Wykroty and Bolesławiec. The group chose Wykroty near Nowogrodziec because of its better infrastructure.
Construction of the plant will begin in August this year, with production scheduled to start in early 2011. The group plans to employ approximately 400 people.
TBAI Poland is already the eleventh company to decide to invest in the Nowogrodziec-Wykroty subzone. Companies from Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and Poland currently operate there.
