For the second time, Miejski Zespół Szkół nr 2 in Bolesławiec is announcing enrollment for sports classes. The school invites students born in 1999 (for the fourth grade) and those born in 2002 (for the first grade). Fourth-graders will pursue their sporting interests during 10 physical-education lessons (in the following format: 4 lessons, one hour of swimming-pool activities and three 90-minute blocks after school). For first-graders, the school will add one hour of physical education to the timetable.
The current Class IV a sports class is the best not only in sports—it is also one of the school’s top classes in terms of academic results. Its most talented students represent the school in competitions in Polish, mathematics, recitation, English, history and many other subjects.
Sports activities teach consistency and a sense of duty. The school’s students’ sporting achievements make it possible to set increasingly higher expectations for them. From June 2010, the school will have the best sports facilities in the area: two sports halls (800 m² and 1,000 m²), a football pitch with an artificial surface, and basketball and handball courts.
The school cooperates with many sports clubs (BKS Bobrzanie, MKS Bolesłavia, StarBol Bolesławiec, TOP Bolesławiec), as well as with schools from the Czech Republic and Germany. During this school year, students from the sports class took part and will take part in the following events:
- City Mini Volleyball Championship “2”
- District Relay Cross-Country Running Championship
- District Individual Cross-Country Running Championship
- 3rd Lower Silesian Athletics Meeting – Świętoszów
- Europa Marathon Goerlitz – race between the bridges
- Europa Marathon Goerlitz
- “Orange Cup” Football Tournament
Furthermore, on 31 May, students from MZS nr 2 will leave for a sports camp in the Czech town of Zakupy.
The school invites all interested parents to a meeting organized by director Kornela Filipowicza, which will be held on Monday, 20 April at 5:30 p.m. at Miejski Zespół Szkół nr 2 in Bolesławiec (38c Jana Pawła II Street, tel. 075 644 44 20, 606 782 293).
