On 15 October 2018, Ewa Lijewska-Małachowska received a special award for her work and that of her team.
– I wanted to emphasize that culture and the events associated with it are created by the entire BOK–MCC team, and it is my team that I would like to thank most of all – said Ewa Lijewska-Małachowska. – All the projects, events, workshops, exhibitions and concerts are teamwork. I am immensely happy that I can lead such an exceptional team of people – the director added.
BOK–MCC projects for the region’s residents
Thanks to projects carried out by the BOK–MCC team, residents of Bolesławiec and the county could attend outstanding films shown at the Film Discussion Club for a ticket price of PLN 5 (as part of a season ticket), enjoy a second, small cinema room at the Forum (including the purchase and installation of a sound system and cinema screen with its supporting structure), and use a modern screen and laser projector in the large room.
Residents could take part in joint artistic activities with neighbours from Germany and the Czech Republic, watch excellent films, learn dance and singing from qualified instructors and artists, or participate in outdoor photography sessions and present their photographs at exhibitions.
Tango workshops with partners from the Czech Republic and Germany proved very popular and attracted large audiences: “Tango Argentino” and “Tango Milonga,” which gave Bolesławiec enthusiasts of the fiery Argentine dance an opportunity to take part. Young singing enthusiasts could hone their skills with excellent instructors thanks, among other things, to the “Sound Image – Polish-German Music Workshops 2012” project. Photography enthusiasts took part in workshops and outdoor sessions financed, among other things, through the projects “Ceramics – European Cultural Heritage in Photography,” a Polish-Czech project, and “Polish-Czech Photographic Impressions. Bolesławiec – Trutnov 2017.”
One of the most enjoyable projects was certainly the BOK–MCC and Liberec city film project “Comedy Without Borders” – Polish-Czech film meetings. During it, Czechs and Poles jointly watched the most important comedies from their respective countries. As part of the project, stars of the Polish cabaret scene such as Zenon Laskowik, Jacek Federowicz and Joanna Kołaczkowska were invited to Bolesławiec. Project participants also watched classic comedies: “The Cruise,” “Ecce Homo Homolka,” “Sztos,” “Lemonade Joe,” “Filip from the Hemp” and “Wycieszkowiczowie.”
This autumn, one of the largest projects is being carried out: 100 Artists for the 100th Anniversary of Independent Poland. The “Polish Ceramic Artist” exhibition presents works by one hundred Polish ceramic artists to mark the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining its independence. The exhibition is open from 11 October to 11 December 2018 at Bolesławiec cultural institutions. The ceremonial opening of the exhibition will take place on 11 November 2018.
All projects carried out by BOK–MCC in 2009–2018 amounted to PLN 1,319,805.
The istotne.pl editorial team extends its warmest congratulations to Ewa Lijewska-Małachowska and the employees of BOK–MCC.
