The performance addressed crime, aggression, intolerance and xenophobia. It also emphasised the destructive impact of drinking alcohol and showed how people succumb to negative influences from their surroundings.
Despite the difficult subject matter, some scenes were presented by the actors in a humorous way. The young people learned the story of a young man named Darek, who fell in with a group of dangerous football hooligans. This group’s only forms of entertainment were assaults, fights, robberies and alcohol abuse.
One day, Darek and his “gang” attacked a homeless man. After being severely beaten, the victim fought for his life in hospital.
In the meantime, the protagonist met a former schoolmate who was a lawyer. Taking advantage of the situation, he asked his friend for help. Despite her efforts and explanations, the case ended with Darek receiving a guilty verdict.
The participants watched the performance with interest and took an active part in it. After the show, the young people applauded the actors enthusiastically, showing their appreciation for their performance.
The activities were held as part of the original programme “I Choose Life! I Don’t Take Drugs!”, co-financed by the Bolesławiec City Office.
