ZSM has become a permanent part of the local educational landscape. The school combines tradition with modernity, reliably preparing students for their final secondary-school examinations and enabling them to obtain high professional qualifications.

The institution obtains European Union funding. Thanks to EU funds, the school has equipped its mechatronics laboratories with equipment worth more than €80,000. In addition, Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych is involved in the Network of Vocational Education and Training Centres in Lower Silesia project, under which the institution is to receive teaching equipment worth nearly PLN 4 million.

For many years, ZSM has strengthened its position as one of the region’s leading centres for training specialists in the mechatronics, electronics and automotive industries. The institution’s major assets include three computer laboratories equipped with printers, scanners, notebooks and multimedia projectors, as well as modern language laboratories for German and English. Mechanik does an excellent job of preparing its students for life in a global society.

The school has workshops where ZSM students develop skills useful in their future professional careers. Thanks to the qualifications they acquire, representatives of Mechanik achieve numerous successes in vocational competitions.

The school cooperates with automotive companies and large regional corporations. Students complete placements at companies such as PKS, MZK, Renault, Zehnder, Volkswagen and Zakłady Ceramiczne „Bolesławiec”, and under the Leonardo da Vinci programme they travel for internships to Volkswagen Bildungsinstitut Zwickau in Germany.

ZSM is about more than vocational education. Mechanik offers its students extracurricular activities in team games and athletics. The institution has recorded many sporting successes. Over recent years, the school has won the county-level competition among upper-secondary schools eight times. At regional level, significant successes have been achieved by its athletes and football, volleyball and basketball teams.

Mechanik also has a well-equipped library with 12,000 volumes and a multimedia centre. The school is also home to the Mechatronics, IT, Reading and Media, and PCK clubs, the School European Club and the Mechanicus music ensemble. Students actively take part in blood donation drives and charitable initiatives.

  • Technical Secondary School (4 years). The offer includes:
    • Mechatronics Technical Secondary School (2 classes) – trains specialists with professional qualifications combining the skills of a mechanic, electronics technician and IT specialist
    • Automotive Technical Secondary School (1 class) – graduates of this specialisation may find employment in the automotive industry and transport. During their studies, students take a driving course. After completing it, they may sit the examination at examination centres throughout the country
  • Basic Vocational School (3 years). The offer includes:
    • one class training automotive mechanics (driving course)
    • half a class training automotive electromechanics (driving course)
    • half a class training fitter-mechatronics technicians
    • half a class training locksmiths
    • half a class training cutting-machine operators.
