A reader called the editorial office Reader, informing us that on Monday, 10 September, in the morning, there was a problem with an MZK bus at the stop on Zwycięstwa Street in Bolesławiec.
The vehicle, the reader said, arrived overcrowded, and there was no way to board it. The son of our interlocutor takes this bus to school in Dolne Młyny. His mother is concerned that the problem with getting there will be even greater in winter. (For now, in a pinch, one can go for a walk or ride a bicycle.)
“There was such a situation,” istotne.pl portal president Andrzej Jagiera, president of the Municipal Transport Company in Bolesławiec, confirms in a conversation with the portal. “The first driver travelling from Konradowska did not take all the passengers. Those people boarded the second bus on that route, which arrived a few minutes later.”
Why? Bus drivers cannot take on board more people than permitted by regulations. On Tuesday, 11 September, the head of MZK was personally at Zwycięstwa Street, and this time there was no problem boarding the bus. However, the first bus from Konradowska to arrive at Zwycięstwa was slightly larger than Monday’s bus.
“We are monitoring the situation and checking whether this was a one-off incident,” explains A. Jagiera. “We always try to select buses so that drivers do not have to leave passengers at stops. In this situation, too, we must find a solution so that everyone who wants to board our bus has the opportunity to do so.”
And he adds:
From Wednesday, 12 September, these Line 7 services have been operated by higher-capacity buses.
