As we read on the Bolesławiec City Hall website:

2018 is the Year of the Jubilee of the 100th Anniversary of Poland Regaining Independence. After the partitions and 123 years of captivity, following the great uprisings, free Poland returned to the map of the world.

In Bolesławiec, to mark this special anniversary, a monument commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Regaining Independence is being built. The monument will replace the current obelisk—the “milestone” in the Skwer 100-lecia Odzyskania Niepodległości (Bankowa Street). The stone from the existing obelisk will be renovated, decorated with a ceramic white-and-red flag and topped with a sculpture of an eagle.

The Municipal Honorary Committee for the construction of the monument commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Poland Regaining Independence is appealing to the residents of Bolesławiec through the City Hall’s website:

If you would like to support the construction of the monument commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Regaining Independence in Bolesławiec, become one of its founders. To do so, you can make a donation to the account:

What will you get in return?

Donors’ names will be commemorated by being entered on a list that will be placed in a time capsule set in the monument’s pedestal.

When will the monument be unveiled?

The ceremonial unveiling of the monument commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Regaining Independence in Bolesławiec will take place on 11 November of the Jubilee Year.
