The Education, Culture, Physical Culture and Sport Department of the District Office is currently preparing regulations for awarding scholarships and reimbursements to pupils and students. At the same time, an application for funding is being prepared for the Marshal’s Office. Voivodes from across Poland will jointly seek funds from the European Union.
“The program is intended to eliminate educational barriers and help young people obtain secondary or higher education,” says Alicja Krzyszczak, Deputy Head of the EKKFiS Department.
No applications need to be submitted yet
Pupils will be selected at schools by committees. Only social criteria will be taken into account. The income per person in the family will be important. “If someone is in a good financial situation and the income per person exceeds 504 zlotys, they will not receive the money,” says Dariusz Kwaśniewski, Head of the EKKFiS Department. “The program is simply social in nature, not academic,” the head adds. Only pupils who live outside Bolesławiec will be eligible for the program.
The situation will be somewhat different for students. First, the program will cover everyone enrolled in higher education, regardless of their place of residence. Second, in addition to social criteria, their field of study will also be taken into account. “Those studying natural sciences can count on the largest amounts. They will be given preference because the European Union is focusing on the development of technology and, consequently, economic development,” explains Alicja Krzyszczak. The type of studies—full-time, evening or extramural—does not matter when applying for the scholarship. Students do not have to submit any documents yet. The application form will only be available in September and will have to be completed then. For now, they can contact the department and provide their details. As soon as the application form is ready, the department will inform the student.
Up to 350 zlotys per month
A pupil will receive a monthly reimbursement of up to 250 zlotys. Reimbursement means that the pupil will have to collect invoices or receipts related to their education and then submit them to the school. Only then will they receive a refund of the costs. Students will receive up to 350 zlotys per month, paid in advance. They will not have to present any invoices. It will be enough for them to present a certificate confirming that they are continuing their studies every six months.
You will find more information on our website at the end of August.
