In the fourth-round match of the Lower Silesian fourth division at Spółdzielcza, BKS Bolesławiec’s senior team defeated Prochowiczanka Prochowice 2:1 (2:0) after a hard-fought battle. The goals for our team were scored by Adrian Kulesza and Łukasz Graczyk.
Saturday’s match was played in occasionally heavy rain, but this did not negatively affect the quality of the spectacle. Both teams left a great deal of effort on the pitch, but BKS Bolesławiec emerged victorious from the contest and collected three points.
The first half was dictated by BKS Bolesławiec, who attacked their opponents from the outset. In the opening stages, Oskar Pochwała found himself in good positions, but our striker’s shots went wide of the Prochowiczanka Prochowice goal. The visitors looked weaker at first and focused exclusively on defense. We took the lead as early as the sixth minute. Filip Zagórski made an excellent run down the right and shot at the visitors’ goal from a tight angle. The Prochowiczanka defender managed to clear the ball, but it fell to Adrian Kulesza, who put us 1:0 ahead with a precise shot. The early goal did not lull our players, who immediately pressed for a second. We had several more chances, but we had to wait until the 35th minute for the next goal. Adrian Biały then produced an excellent dribble and played the ball to Łukasz Graczyk. Popularly known as Graczu, he fired into the top corner practically from the spot, leaving the opponent no chance and making it 2:0 to BKS Bolesławiec. The score did not change before the break, and it seemed we would comfortably see out the victory.
The second half, however, followed a different course. Prochowiczanka Prochowice came into the game, took the initiative and threatened our goal several times. Our team no longer looked as confident as in the first half, but fortunately our defensive unit performed well. The turning point could have come in the 70th minute, when Prochowiczanka were awarded a penalty, but fortunately for us, the taker sent the ball over the crossbar and the visitors were left empty-handed. Prochowiczanka Prochowice repeatedly appeared near our penalty area, while BKS unfortunately could not make use of several counterattacks. In the 80th minute, our opponents scored a goal to reduce the deficit, and we faced a nervous finish. Mateusz Matulak was added to the scoresheet. Fortunately, Prochowiczanka Prochowice were unable to find an equalizer, and the match ultimately ended in a 2:1 victory for BKS Bolesławiec.
Saturday’s victory was our team’s second in a row, and although our play in the second half was not impressive, we deserved to win and can add three points to our tally. Prochowiczanka Prochowice deserve credit for their determined performance; despite the unfavorable result, they looked solid and will cause trouble for many more opponents.
BKS Bolesławiec will play its next league match away against Sparta Rudna (09.09, 17:00), while on Wednesday we face an away cup match against Rybak Parowa (05.09, 17:00).
