Today is another hearing in the case of Dominik, who last year stabbed his drunken mother and killed her partner. We have been reporting on the hearings from the beginning. Our readers learned the story of a boy who remained with his alcoholic mother from childhood. He had no support from the most important person in his life. His father never wanted to see him.
Ms. Zofia came to the hearing. The woman offered to give her apartment to Dominik. Moved by the boy’s fate and the harm he had suffered, she wants to help him. The emotions are overwhelming.
– Good deeds come back. This poor child suffers when someone does not have support from their own mother. I want to help Dominik because I understand how great this suffering is – says Ms. Zofia. – There are many children living in hell, and if I can help even one of them, I am happy – the moved woman said.
Ms. Zofia said that, as a young woman, she also helped children from an orphanage and knows what it is like to live without parental love.
– Dominik has never received anything, and Ms. Zofia’s offer is difficult for him to accept – attorney Małgorzata Gruszecka said.
Attorney Wojciech Kasprzyk emphasized the woman’s generosity and the significance of her gesture. – What you are doing is not normal; it is exceptional and wonderful – he told the donor.
The hearing will begin in a dozen or so minutes.

The court decided that another opinion from psychiatric specialists was needed, and the case has not ended. Dominik will be examined in Warsaw in October. The experts’ opinion will be prepared urgently at the court’s request. The next hearing will take place at the beginning of 2019.
– This is a precedent-setting and very important case – says Dominik’s defense attorney, Wojciech Kasprzyk. – There is a strong likelihood of an acquittal, which is why, to be certain of his verdict, the judge decided to seek the opinion of associate professor Dr. habil. Janusz Heitzman, a psychiatric specialist from the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology’s Forensic Psychiatry Clinic in Warsaw, as well as three other specialists. The case was adjourned by the court on its own initiative. This does not often happen in criminal proceedings and demonstrates how exceptional this case is – attorney Kasprzyk added.
