After a three-year absence, the clay parade returned to the Festival of Ceramics, allowing people to cover themselves in clay and parade to music once again. Many people wanted to join in the fun. The clay pools broke popularity records. Children, both young and old, happily bathed in clay.

Leading the parade was a clay-covered Muzyczne Radio car driven by DJ Maciej Wowk. Today, Saturday, after the Sound’n’Grace concert, Maciej will host Muzyczne Party.

Behind Muzyczne Radio came Joppe’s recycled jug: a more than four-metre eco-sculpture by Waldemar Cieślak, made, among other things, from 440 plastic bottles. It commemorates the clay jug of Master Joppe, a ceramic symbol of the city from the second half of the 19th century until 1945, when the jug was probably destroyed by Red Army soldiers.

Behind the jug, on a mobile structure, came Grandma Róża’s gnome from the novel Grażyny Hanaf Joachim. Tourists and Bolesławiec residents admiring the procession of living clay sculptures warmly welcomed the participants.

Competitions!

We remind everyone who took part in the parade about two competitions: for the best costume and the best photograph. In both competitions, the main prizes are PLN 500, Oriflame cosmetics worth PLN 100, and a ceramic set from Ceramika Artystyczna Spółdzielnia Rękodzieła Artystycznego. Simply send a photo of yourself in a clay costume, along with your details, to konkurs@istotne.pl (photographers: foto@istotne.pl). Details are available at glinashow.pl in the competitions tab.

The Glina Show project is co-financed by the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
