A18 motorway southern carriageway to be reconstructed

The Minister of Infrastructure has decided to proceed with the project involving construction of the southern carriageway of the A18 motorway between the Olszyna and Golnice interchanges.

The project involves the construction of more than 70 km of a new motorway carriageway, divided into the following sections:

Olszyna interchange – up to km 11+860 (11.2 km)
from km 11+860 – Żary interchange (12.04 km)
Żary interchange – up to km 33+760 (9.9 km)
from km 33+760 – voivodeship boundary (16.24 km)
voivodeship boundary – Golnice interchange (21.5 km).

The tender procedure for the first A18 sections is scheduled to be announced as early as 2018. Due to the varying stages of preparation, the individual sections of the southern A18 carriageway are scheduled to open to traffic between 2021 and 2023.
