Officers from the Economic Crime Division and officers from the Traffic Division of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra detained a 67-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra who was transporting 8,100 cigarettes and 20 kg of tobacco without Polish excise stamps in a Renault Laguna. (The losses to the State Treasury were estimated at at least PLN 25,000.)
The police are currently investigating the circumstances of the case in detail, including where the illegal goods came from and who they were intended for.
The 67-year-old faces a fine.
