The match, held on Friday (20 July) in Rębiszów, was fairly even, and both teams created an entertaining spectacle. Włókniarz Mirsk had a slight advantage in the first half, but Różnicki, guarding our goal, could not be beaten. BKS also had its chances, but accuracy and finishing were lacking. The match was an opportunity to test new players, so the starting eleven was completely different from the one we watched just a month ago.
In the second half, BKS Bolesławiec began to gain the upper hand and spent more time in Włókniarz Mirsk’s penalty area. Marek Majka was especially active; the opposing goalkeeper tipped his free-kick onto the crossbar. Shortly afterwards, “Maja” again had a good opportunity, but the ball deflected off an opposing defender, then the post, and went out for a corner. Our team’s improved play was rewarded in the 74th minute. That was when Mirosław Markowski took advantage of a mistake by a Włókniarz defender, Mirosław Markowski, and in a one-on-one situation put the ball into the net to give BKS Bolesławiec a 1–0 lead. The score did not change before the final whistle, and our team’s victory became a fact.
Włókniarz Mirsk – BKS Bolesławiec 0:1 (0:0).
Goals: Markowski (74′).
The following players appeared for BKS, among others: Różnicki, Bochnia, Walczak, Dul, Olesiński, Szaja, Kliwak, Kizyma, Smolarek, Wołoszyn, M. Dmuchowski, Markowski, Zapiór, Biały.
