Why is there no connection between Łaziska and Kruszyn? – asks a Reader. Many elderly and ill people live there, and they complain that they currently cannot even travel to the doctor or go shopping. The Reader says that elderly and infirm people do not have enough strength to get around on foot.
Below is the response from the Rural Municipality:
The Bolesławiec Municipal Office kindly informs:
Since the beginning of the current calendar year, the Municipality has held intensive talks with all carriers operating in its area so that residents of the Municipality’s suburban localities would feel the withdrawal of MZK in Bolesławiec from serving them as little as possible. As a result of these talks, both Łaziska and Kruszyn have transport services, operated by carriers in accordance with the timetables and stop signs they provided, approved by the District Office in Bolesławiec. Bus stops are located in the following places:
- Kruszyn – Kruszyn 1, Kruszyn, Orzechowa Street, Kruszyn school, and Kruszyn 2 stops, served by PKS in Bolesławiec and Firmę Usługowo-Handlową „Grażyna” for passengers boarding toward Bolesławiec, as well as stops on Główna Street and Kruszyn 2 for passengers alighting from buses arriving from Bolesławiec.
- Łaziska – bus stops along the voivodeship road (the main road through the locality), served by Firmę Usługowo-Handlową „Grażyna”.
Despite the talks, the carriers did not declare their willingness to serve the above-mentioned localities along the route previously operated by MZK in Bolesławiec between Kruszyn and Łaziska. In addition, it is currently impossible to operate on road no. 815/3 in the Łaziska area – the so-called “Kukurydzianka” – because the reconstruction of voivodeship road no. 297 has not yet been completed. The completed section of road has not been opened for use, and a ban on traffic in both directions remains in force, meaning a ban on all vehicles and pedestrian columns.
Nevertheless, we assure you that Bolesławiec Municipality has made every effort to ensure that the changes introduced do not negatively affect residents who previously used public transport. We realize that all changes are difficult at first. Nevertheless, all comments concerning difficulties with journeys are passed directly to the carriers, who also take travelers’ feedback into account on an ongoing basis. These difficulties are also related to the timetable operating during the holiday period. During the school year, in accordance with the timetables presented, the number of services transporting children to schools will increase.
