6 medals (1 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze) were won by Polish representatives at the European Veterans Championships, held in Glasgow, Scotland. The Polish national team consisted of 27 people. (In total, around 1,100 athletes from 35 countries took part in the event.)
The silver medal was won by Bolesławiec resident Edward Spraski (+100 kg), competing in the M8 age category. The athlete from the City of Ceramics won a very difficult bout before the end against 135 kg Azerbaijani Mahammad Muslumzada, a world sambo champion. What is more, he defeated German Jürgen Müller, a bronze medalist at the European Championships in Zagreb.
CONGRATULATIONS! The World Championships now await our athlete, taking place in October in the Mexican city of Cancun.
