The incident occurred on Wednesday, June 20, in the morning, in Przejęsław (Osiecznica municipality). The 24-year-old driver of a Volkswagen Passat failed to yield to the 30-year-old driver of an Opel, who was traveling toward Świętoszów. A collision occurred, injuring three people: both drivers and the Opel’s 35-year-old passenger.
The latter was transported by a Lotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowe helicopter to Nowa Sól. (He probably suffered leg and spinal injuries).
Both drivers were taken to the hospital in Bolesławiec. It is not yet known how serious their injuries are. (All three are residents of Bolesławiec County; they were all sober.) The VW driver lost his driving licence.
Furthermore, the Opel hit a parked vehicle in which a 35-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County was sitting. Fortunately, he was not injured.
