From time to time, rubbish bins disappear from part of the riverside boulevard along the Bóbr, beside the bike path/sidewalk behind Club Imperium. At the moment, there is not a single one there. Residents use this sidewalk for walks and recreation, so such bins are absolutely essential here. In fact, there used to be benches here too.

I suspect that some of the club’s regulars (read: vandals) regularly destroy everything that can be destroyed in the area, so no one wants to put anything there anymore. But what are people who use these places during the rest of the week, apart from Saturday evening, supposed to do with small pieces of rubbish? Perhaps surveillance would be useful there?

As Grażyna Strzyżewska, deputy head of the Municipal Housing Management Establishment in Bolesławiec, explained to us, the roads by Club Imperium are managed by Bolesławiec County, and the regulations clearly state that the manager is responsible for keeping its road clean.

Will there be new benches in this area?

There will be no new benches in this area, because the ones that once stood there were vandalized. What is more, MZGM removed them at the request of… residents, who complained that partygoers occupied the benches and that it was impossible to pass through there safely.

Will there be surveillance near the club?

That is not ruled out, although—as istotne.pl was told by Andrzej Kuriata, head of the Public Procurement and Municipal Investment Department at Bolesławiec City Hall—it certainly will not happen this year. However, there is a chance that surveillance will cover a larger area of the City of Ceramics in the future, because the local government budget is, after all, prepared based on residents’ demands and expectations.

Will there be more rubbish bins?

We asked county officials about that in turn. We will return to the matter as soon as we receive a response.

Update: 2018-06-20

Paweł Bednarski, head of the County Roads Authority:

The area beside the sidewalk along Imperium belongs to the Bolesławiec urban municipality. It is not within our jurisdiction.
