As reported on the website of the Bolesławiec County State Fire Service Headquarters:

[...] On 6 June 2018, shortly before 8:00 a.m., information was received that in Osieczów, a passenger car had hit a barrier on a bridge and plunged into the river.

Units from JRG Bolesławiec and nearby volunteer fire brigades were dispatched immediately. At the scene, firefighters found a bridge barrier damaged along a length of approximately 10 metres, and below the bridge a passenger car standing in the river—fortunately, it was not submerged in the water.

The car had fallen from a height of approximately 8 metres. One injured person was inside. The units’ efforts focused primarily on evacuating the person from the vehicle. The firefighters entered the water, provided first aid and evacuated the injured person to the bank of the Kwisa. The casualty was handed over to the emergency medical team. Further operations involved pulling the car out of the river. This prevented the river from being contaminated with fuel and oil.

Units from JRG Bolesławiec, OSP Osiecznica and OSP Przejęsław participated in the operation, along with an emergency medical team and the police.

As a reminder, the incident occurred on Wednesday, 6 June, in the morning in Osieczów (Osiecznica municipality).
