On Saturday, June 9, the sixth WKF Karate Tournament for the Kocie Góry Cup took place in Kryniczno near Wrocław. The competition brought together 175 athletes from 11 karate clubs in Lower Silesia. The competitors took part in five events: kihon and forms kata (technical events), phantom and kumite (fights), as well as an agility obstacle course for the youngest competitors.

Our town was represented by 18 karate competitors from TOP Bolesławiec: Dominika Grzyb, Karolina Sacher, Mateusz Bagłaj, Maciej Graczyk, Maciej Przybilski, Filip Dudyński, Radosław Burdzy, Adam Rosiński, Wiktor Małkowski, Jakub Kasprzyk, Fabian Zmaczyński, Filip Kafel, Julia Stadnik, Gabrysia Ostrowska, Mikołaj Olek, Dominika Korzeniewicz, Michał Bieliński and Wiktor Małkowski.

After a full day of competition, coach Robert Bieliński’s trainees won 20 medals in tough sporting rivalry.

Special recognition goes to our youngest competitor, Julia Paszek, who won three medals at her first competition: silver in the obstacle course and bronze in kihon and phantom.
