On May 23–24, workshops connected with an exhibition presenting the life of Jewish girl Anne Frank were held at Janusz Korczak II General Secondary School in Bolesławiec, on the initiative of Małgorzata Matyjaszczuk, a Polish language teacher. (The exhibition belongs to the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam and is also part of the international project The Future of Auschwitz and Holocaust Education in Authentic Memorial Sites.)

Students of II LO, together with female students from Municipal Gymnasium No. 2, gained knowledge and skills in history, interpersonal relations and a leader’s work with a group. All this took place under the watchful eye of educators from Anne Frank House in Poland.

Thanks to the workshops, the students received certificates allowing them to independently and professionally guide visitors around the exhibition. The exhibition was officially opened on Monday, May 28. – We warmly invite everyone interested to visit the exhibition and reflect on a difficult lesson in history that raises many questions related, among other things, to tolerance and xenophobia – say representatives of the “Two” community.

The “Anne Frank House” exhibition can be visited at II LO in Bolesławiec for only two weeks.
