An undoubtedly interesting feature will be a presentation of new directions and trends in industrial design entitled “Tradition and Modernity”, which will be discussed by a graduate of this university and deputy president of the Artistic Handicrafts Cooperative, MSc Eng. Grzegorz Szandrowski.

In addition, visitors will also be able to learn about ceramic industry technology as part of lectures by Prof. Marita Benke-Gajda and MSc Eng. Katarzyna Pasiut, who will address the subjects of stoneware clay as a sculptural material and selected technological aspects of decorative glazes in their presentations.

A definite attraction for visitors to AGH in Krakow at that time will be the opportunity to meet directly with the Cooperative’s artistic director, Mariusz Ochocki, who will demonstrate the sculpting of ceramic vessels, while designers Teresa Liana and Maria Starzyk will present the challenging art of creating ceramic decorations.

The open day will also feature exhibitions of works by Prof. Marita Benke-Gajda, students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, and students of the Artistic Ceramics student research group at AGH’s Faculty of Materials Engineering and Ceramics.
