On Saturday, BKS hosted Granica Bogatynia at the stadium on Spółdzielcza Street. The match ended goalless, with the points shared. However, it was not an ordinary match, and the result was not the most important thing in this case. Money was being raised for sick children, Ania and Krzyś from Bolesławiec. A total of, attention, PLN 9,150! (from ticket sales, the sale of cakes and sausages, collection tins, donations from contributors, and an auction of a Zagłębie Lubin shirt signed by the players).
The match was controlled by BKS Bolesławiec. Our team dominated the midfield, which led to frequent visits by the hosts to the Granica Bolesławiec penalty area. However, a powerful shot on goal was lacking, and those that were taken were easily claimed by the visiting goalkeeper. In the 12th minute, Adrian Kulesza found himself in a good position, but the BKS striker’s low shot was too weak. In the 20th minute, our team attacked again, with Oskar Pochwała providing a good pass to Adrian Kulesza. Unfortunately, once again the popular “Kaczor’s” shot was claimed by the Granica Bogatynia goalkeeper. Just before the break, Adrian Kulesza shot again, but this time we also had to settle for nothing. The score was therefore 0:0 at half-time.
After the break, the pattern of play did not change significantly. Our team attacked, while the visitors, focused on defending, effectively snuffed out our attempts at the outset. In the 59th minute, the ball went into Granica’s goal, but unfortunately the referee called our player offside. In the 70th minute, BKS should have taken the lead. Adrian Kulesza found himself one-on-one with the visiting goalkeeper, but the Granica player came out on top. Granica Bogatynia also created some chances. Near the end of the match, Dawid Kizyma saved us with a superb stop. Despite our determined efforts, we were unable to score the winning goal, and the match ultimately ended 0:0.
Mrs Mirosława, the mother of Ania and Krzyś, made no attempt to hide her emotion after the match. She could not believe that so much money had been raised. All the more so because the woman had previously sought help elsewhere, but without success. She therefore turned to BKS. A positive decision did not take long. The mother of the two sick children thanks BKS president Michał Lis, the club’s management, supporters, friends of the club, sponsors, and all people of goodwill for their assistance.
