Following the awards scandal involving the government of Prime Minister Beata Szydło, the ruling party leader Jarosław Kaczyński announced a reduction in the salaries of parliamentarians and local government officials. However, as the rp.pl portal reports, there is still no such bill concerning the latter.

The salaries of parliamentarians, meanwhile, are to be reduced before the summer holidays. “Rzeczpospolita”:

The state budget will save PLN 13 million annually through the 20-percent cuts to parliamentarians’ salaries, PiS, the author of the changes, calculated. Salaries reduced by approximately PLN 2,000 gross are to be introduced before the summer holidays. An MP and senator will receive 80 percent of the salary of an undersecretary of state—PLN 7,856 gross.
