The International Racketlon Tournament “Hungarian Open 2009” was held in Pecs (Hungary). Sixteen doubles pairs from across Europe competed in the tournament. Bolesławiec club TOP was represented by: Norbert Stolicki, Krzysztof Samonek and Jacek Szubert. All three performed brilliantly.
The Stolicki/Samonek doubles team played best, winning the gold medal after defeating the No. 2-seeded pair from Germany, Koepf/Sach, in the final. Szubert also performed excellently, winning a bronze medal in Pecs alongside Rafał Rykowski from Wrocław.
The success of the TOP players confirms that Bolesławiec continues to have world-class athletes. The next and most important test of our players’ form will be… the World Championships, which will be held in Prague in April.
