Artur Szczogryn, a resident of Tomaszów Bolesławiecki, is almost 36 years old. His leg was amputated when he was in the eighth grade of primary school. The reason? Bone cancer.

At first, he broke down. But a moment later, he hopped onto a scooter. Then he switched to a bicycle. And he has been riding that second two-wheeler for several years now. On weekends, he takes long, 90-kilometre routes. Sometimes he speeds downhill at 40 km/h. Soon, he intends to ride his bicycle to the area near Jelenia Góra.

At first, he lost his balance while riding, but now he has no problem with it. When surprised people ask how he rides a bicycle, he replies: “Fast!” – Some people break down in such a situation and stay at home, he says in an interview with istotne.pl. – I am not one of those people. The only barriers are in your head.

Artur, known as Sztywny to his friends, has a dream: he would like to go wild on a bicycle in the forest. If anyone would like to help a resident of our county purchase a performance bicycle, please contact us at: 662 038 497. You can also support a resident of our county through the zrzutka.pl.
