The District Court in Zgorzelec, acting on a motion from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Zgorzelec, ordered Dariusz R. held in temporary custody for three months. He is suspected of attempting to murder three people. The incident occurred on the evening of 17 April 2018 in Bogatynia. The masked perpetrator entered one of the apartments, where three men were present, and fired several shots at them with a firearm before leaving in an unknown direction.
The bullets fired by the suspect struck two of the victims. One suffered gunshot wounds to the right shin and left thigh, while the other suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The third victim avoided being shot because he hid behind a bed.
Based on actions carried out by the police and the prosecutor’s office, it was established that Dariusz R. was the perpetrator. The man was arrested the following morning and brought to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Zgorzelec, where he was charged with attempting to murder three people.
After questioning the suspect, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Zgorzelec submitted a motion to the court for R. to be held in temporary custody for three months. On 20 April, the court granted the investigators’ request.
Dariusz R. could face life imprisonment.
