Blues nad Bobrem (BnB) began in 1990 on the initiative of Sławek “Zipek” Zimkiewicz, a musician from Bolesławiec and bassist for the “Mercedes Band” group. In 1992, the first music workshops were organized; they were the idea of Krystyna Juszkiewicz. Until 1995, Blues nad Bobrem was a project of the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre (BOK). The year 1996 brought organizational changes. Krystyna Juszkiewicz left BOK and decided to organize the event under the name of her own artistic agency, “Perfekt”.
Since 2010, Blues nad Bobrem has not been organized in Bolesławiec. That year, the Wojtek Seweryn music workshops were held at Kliczków Castle. From 2014, BnB was hosted in Kruszyn (a village near Bolesławiec), at the facilities of the Municipal Cultural and Sports Centre and the Primary School.
In 2018, the workshops are returning to Bolesławiec. They will be organized by the Blues nad Bobrem Association together with the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre.
Krystyna Juszkiewicz invited all her friends to a farewell concert, which is her way of thanking them for many years of cooperation in organizing the Blues nad Bobrem festival. In the invitation, Krystyna Juszkiewicz wrote:
“It is so difficult to say goodbye after so many years of exceptional cooperation. It is difficult for me to find the right words to fully express what I feel and what will remain in my heart and memory forever. In every respect, it was an important stage of my life.”
