Organizing gambling in violation of the provisions of the law or the terms of a concession or permit is punishable by a heavy fine, imprisonment for up to 3 years, or both penalties together. Possessing illegal gambling machines is also prohibited. This carries a severe financial penalty of PLN 100,000 per machine. The fine is payable not only by the person who installs the machine, but also by the owner of the premises where it is located.
