On Saturday, the 11th Football Herring Party was held at the Prnjavor restaurant. Nearly 100 people took part in the event. The invited guests included representatives of the city and county authorities, entrepreneurs, and supporters of Bolesławiecki Klub Sportowy Bobrzanie. Guests were welcomed by club representatives: president Jan Woch and board members Jacek Szymczak, Henryk Szewc, and Piotr Bieńkowski.
Every year, BKS thanks its sponsors. During the 11th Football Herring Party, the Golden Ball, the club’s main distinction, was awarded to Drukarnia ASG, owned by Sławomir and Wanda Zapała.
Thanks were also extended to, among others, the municipal government, the county office, Bader Polska, Terma-Kork, the Regional Association of Employers, Mirko, and the Legnica-based company Ognik Ekspert. Club memorabilia auctions were also held during the ball. As IstotneInformacje.pl learned, approximately PLN 3,000 was raised.
The 11th Football Herring Party also provided an opportunity to announce the winners of the polls for the most popular athlete and team of 2008. The most popular athlete was UKS Ilyo Bolesławiec competitor Kamil Serafin (WTF taekwondo). His parents, Krzysztof and Nina Serafin, accepted the award on their son’s behalf.
The title of most popular team went to MKS Bolesłavia (athletics). The award was accepted by the club president, Bartosz Gruman. IstotneInformacje.pl was the media patron of the poll for the most popular athlete and team of 2008.
