Cars and tractors on the bicycle path. The commune head comments

Mirosław Haniszewski:

[...] I would like to point out that it is not only istotne.pl that has received reports of improper use of the section of the bicycle path that was opened last year.

However, it is difficult to describe this as “chronic”, since to date we have received and confirmed two such cases in which farmers cultivating fields adjacent to the path drove agricultural machinery—specifically a tractor—onto the path and travelled along it for several dozen metres, bringing soil onto its surface.

We managed to establish who was using the path contrary to its intended purpose, and the commune head held warning talks with the farmers. In addition, a request for assistance in enforcing the ban on other vehicles entering the path was sent to the officers of the Police Station in Warta Bolesławiecka.

The commune head added:

I would additionally explain that during the past 2–3 weeks, a service vehicle of the Commune Office travelled along the path, delivering building materials and barriers to employees. The barriers were additionally installed to improve safety along the path running beside steep embankments.
