The BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec senior team are preparing for the spring round of the Lower Silesian fourth division. The team has said goodbye to Sebastian Tylutki, who has joined Twardy Świętoszów. It is not known whether Tomasz Krzywonos will continue to play for the team. Bałtyk Koszalin are interested in this player. The following players have returned to BKS: Paweł Rissmann, most recently of Chojnowianka Chojnów, and goalkeeper Dawid Kizyma (most recently playing in the Legnica Class A, and previously also at Chojnowianka Chojnów).
It is now almost certain that three new players will play for BKS. Tomasz Derewiński – midfielder (most recently in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian regional league), Adam Klimas – midfielder (most recently with Górnik Polkowice’s second team), and Sławomir Pełdiak – most recently a defender for KS Kolonia Bolesławiec. The BKS senior team’s coach is Krzysztof Lechowski.
BKS have already played several friendly matches. Here are the results:
- 31 January: Sprotavia Szprotawa (Lubusz fourth division) – BKS 1:1 (goals by Rissmann and Szymański – own goal)
- 7 February: Piast Zawidów (regional league) – BKS 0:3 (goals by Iskrzak, Rissmann and Dymek)
- 8 February: Unia Kunice Żary (third division) – BKS 3:3 (goals by Rissmann, Derewiński and Szymański)
- 14 February: Nysa Zgorzelec (regional league) – BKS 2:2 (goals by Iskrzak and Wilas)
All friendly matches away
On 18 February, BKS will face Żagań’s second-division team, Czarni, in Żagań. On 28 February, the Bolesławiec team will travel for a test match against fourth-division Chojnowianka Chojnów. On 7 March, our team will play Twardy Świętoszów (regional league). Unfortunately, BKS play all their friendly matches away. Why will football fans not see any friendly matches in Bolesławiec? “The club has six teams and none of them has anywhere to train,” says Jan Woch, president of BKS Bobrzanie. “There are not enough pitches, and we are prohibited from using those that are available. There is no other option: either a friendly match away or no match at all,” the president adds.
Away matches are a considerable expense for the club. Playing a match in Zgorzelec on an artificial pitch, including travel and pitch rental, costs around PLN 800. The annual upkeep of BKS’s first and second teams costs approximately PLN 138,000, while maintaining the entire club costs around PLN 360,000. Despite the difficulties, the coach and players are preparing diligently for the spring round of the competition. The first match is on 14 March in Prochowice. After the autumn round, the senior team are sixth in the table. Jan Woch assures that the team will not give up its fight for promotion to the third division.
The Club’s New Official Website
Today, the new Official Website of BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec was launched. The website is available at www.bksbobrzanie.pl and is updated regularly.
Update: 2009-02-17 10:30
The friendly match scheduled for 18 February will not take place. The reason is snow covering the pitch in Żagań. On that day, BKS will play a friendly against third-division Polonia/Sparta Świdnica. The match will be played on an artificial surface in Świdnica.
