After the Sejm supported the bill (only .Nowoczesna MPs voted against it. Two other MPs—one from PO and one unaffiliated—abstained), the act went to the Senate. Fifty-eight senators voted in favor of its adoption, 14 opposed it, and 3 abstained. “Andrzej Duda will certainly sign it, as he himself initiated the bill,” reads wp.pl, which also reports that the date of the holiday is not accidental:
On March 24, 1944, the Germans murdered the Ulma family in Markowa—Józef and Wiktoria, their children, and the Jews who were hiding with the family.
What do you think? Is it good that such a holiday has been established?
