On March 11, officers from the District Police Headquarters in Polkowice received information about the suspected rape of a young woman, which allegedly took place at night in one of the apartments in the county. The police immediately began actions aimed at identifying the perpetrators.

Several dozen minutes after receiving information about the crime, Polkowice officers detained six men in connection with the case. Police officers from the non-permanent operational group responsible for detaining particularly dangerous criminals took part in the operation.

The evidence collected by the officers made it possible to bring charges against the detainees. The District Court in Lubin ordered the temporary detention for three months of two men who had previously been charged with rape. Regarding the other people suspected of failing to help the victim, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lubin ordered police supervision combined with a ban on approaching or contacting the victim and a ban on leaving the country, including the seizure of their passports.

The two men suspected of involvement in the rape could face up to 15 years in prison. The other suspects could be jailed for three years.
