Lower Silesian boxers began the competition on Saturday, March 10, at the boxing hall on Matejki Street in Chojnów. The Lower Silesians—including TOP Boks Bolesławiec boxer Piotr Motyka—faced representatives of Olimp Lublin in this match.

Tomasz Tomczyk, our boxer's coach:

Piotrek boxed against a boxer from Kazakhstan. In the second round, he suffered an injury: his left eyelid was cut open. Blood flooded his eye and he had trouble seeing. The doctor wanted to stop the fight, but Piotrek showed character and continued fighting.

The result? A draw. “For the league’s opening match—and against an opponent a head taller with a longer reach—that’s a good start,” T. Tomczyk sums up.

Lower Silesia defeated the Lublin boxers 14:2. The next away match will take place on April 7 in Szczecin. A detailed report from the event is available on the chojnow.pl portal.
