A community police officer from Police Station II in Jelenia Góra was informed by a resident of one of the localities in Stara Kamienica municipality that her 81-year-old neighbor lived alone in a house without heating or electricity.
The community police officer confirmed the information. It turned out that the woman had no one caring for her. The house was indeed unheated; there was neither fuel nor electricity.
The police officer notified the Municipal Social Welfare Center and crisis management services about the 81-year-old woman’s difficult situation. The result? On the day when the thermometer in the locality showed minus 20 degrees, the woman was placed in a nursing home.
