MKS Bolesłavia made a strong start to the 2009 season. At the Polish Indoor Junior and U20 Athletics Championships, held in Spała from January 22 to 25, Wojciech Kowalski won the silver medal in the 600 m. The Bolesłavia athlete dominated his rivals in the heats and qualified for the final with the second-best time. The final was very evenly contested. Wojciech ran 1:24.65, while the winner, Mateusz Kapes, recorded 1:24.35.

Karolina Kędzia, who finished fourth in the pentathlon, and Maciej Parobczak, who recorded the fifth-fastest time in the 200 m, came close to the podium. Patryk Dudyński also made a good start. The athlete qualified for the 60 m hurdles final. Unfortunately, a false start prevented him from competing for a medal.

Patryk Pieczarka and Mateusz Pawluk also represented our city at the Polish Indoor Championships—both in the 300 m. Patryk finished tenth, while Mateusz came fourteenth.
