Robert Relich, the mayor of Nowogrodziec, signed a letter of intent with representatives of the Japanese Toyota conglomerate. A plant specializing in the production of car interior components will be built in Wykroty, within the Kamienna Góra Special Economic Zone. It will be constructed on a plot measuring more than eleven hectares.
The Japanese company considered two locations: Wykroty and Bolesławiec. The conglomerate chose Wykroty near Nowogrodziec because of its better infrastructure. Production is scheduled to begin in 2011. The company plans to employ around 400 people.
More than 40 companies have invested in the Kamienna Góra zone, including the magazine publisher BDN from the Bauer Group and Ziołopex, known for its Appetita spices.
