The exhibition and presentation of slide shows entitled “Snapshots from Norway” offered an intriguing photographic journey to a country where Europe’s last pristine areas have been preserved. It is home to the continent’s largest glacier, an endless plateau, and the longest and deepest fjord. In Norway, the artist was fascinated by its distinctive light, the monumental scale of the mountain landscapes, the people, and the emotions he experienced during his journey.
As Grzegorz Matoryn said, the photographs he presented during the opening were not a travelogue, because the photographer spent only 216 hours in Norway. The exhibition served as an opportunity to convey a certain atmosphere and reflect on time and space. It was also a kind of record of both the subjective selection of frames and the places visited.
