On January 3, after 2:00 a.m., a man called the police emergency number and reported the murder of a friend, allegedly committed by another friend of his. Shortly afterward, the caller hung up without providing any other details.

The duty officer, wanting to verify whether a crime had actually occurred, identified the owner of the phone from which the call to the police station had been made.

The phone's owner was not at home. Nevertheless, the officers managed to find the apartment where the man in question was sleeping with his friends.

It turned out that, during a heavily alcohol-fueled party, the 43-year-old had the idiotic idea of notifying the police about a crime that had never occurred. (Later, he was unable to explain why he had done it.)

At the time of his arrest, the man was drunk. He had a blood alcohol level of two per mille.

The 43-year-old was taken to police custody. He could now face up to two years in prison.
