The festive Procession in Anno Domini 2018 will set off at 1:00 p.m. from the Church of the Holy Trinity to Obermarkt in Görlitz. As always, the communal carol singing of residents of Zgorzelec, Görlitz and the surrounding area will be enriched by Bible-inspired scenes. As in previous years, in addition to residents, clergy and local government officials, animals from Görlitz’s Our Zoo will take part in the procession, including a camel, which has long been one of the main attractions of the January event. The musical accompaniment will be provided by the Representative Orchestra of the Turów Power Plant.
Procession route: Obermarkt – Bruderstrasse – Neißestrasse – Old Town Bridge – Pocztowy Square – Daszyńskiego Street – Piłsudskiego Street – Wolności Street – Municipal Cultural Centre.
As usual, the celebrations will conclude with the scene of the Three Kings paying homage to the Infant Jesus in the stable set up on the steps of the Municipal Cultural Centre. As every year, chilled participants will be able to warm themselves with hot drinks, szczodraki and homemade cake, available for purchase at stalls set up in front of the Municipal Cultural Centre. The proceeds will support the Procession fund and help make it even more colourful.
