On January 2, uniformed officers met with children from School No. 5 in Jelenia Góra. The talk for the students of “Five” was prepared by Senior Sergeant Beata Sosulska-Baran from the Prevention Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters and Grzegorz Rybarczyk from the Municipal Guard.
The officers familiarized the students with situations threatening their life and health, discussed ways of preventing these dangers, and paid particular attention to:
- appropriate behavior in dangerous situations. (They sought to make the children more aware of protecting their own lives and health, as well as those of their classmates)
- safety during walks and on the way to school
- proper behavior in difficult situations; a reminder of the emergency numbers: 112, 997, 998, 999
- crossing the road at designated places, behaving safely on the pavement, and traveling by car (wearing seat belts/using a child seat in the car; on a bus, boarding and alighting on the pavement or roadside side)
- safety when interacting with a “stranger”
- spending free time appropriately and playing safely
- staying safe while skiing, sledding and cycling (helmets, protectors)
- playing in the snow, icicles and snow overhangs.
The meetings with children will be held regularly.
