Residents of Królowej Jadwigi Street in Bolesławiec let an intoxicated homeless woman into their home on Christmas Eve. “The woman knocked on our door; she wanted to warm up,” says Mrs. Anna.

At first, everything was pleasant. The hostess heated up some borscht. Mrs. Anna’s family talked with their guest at the table, trying to avoid sensitive topics. (It turned out that the latter had a daughter and a partner who beats her.)

After warming up and eating something, the homeless woman… fell asleep at the table. When the hosts tried to wake her, she began insulting them and told them to f*** off out of their own home.

Mrs. Anna’s son called PCK. It turned out that the intoxicated woman would not be admitted to the shelter anyway. The hosts called the municipal police. No one answered. They therefore notified the police, who arrived very quickly.

This was not the first time Mrs. Anna had helped people in need on Christmas Eve. However, the matter had never ended this way. Nevertheless, the woman from Bolesławiec is not discouraged. “I would do it again; on a day like this, you don’t refuse anyone,” she says. “Everyone should behave this way. People’s lives can take different turns.”
