This year, as part of the fair, the school community wants to support the rehabilitation of little Olivier. The boy was born on October 27, 2016 – several months prematurely, as an extremely premature infant with a 5% chance of survival, weighing 510 g at 23 weeks of gestation. He received just 2 points on the 10-point Apgar scale.

He was so fragile that even the slightest touch caused him pain. He was born with severe asphyxia and congenital pneumonia. He was diagnosed, among other conditions, with bronchopulmonary dysplasia, intestinal obstruction, a grade II hemorrhage, anemia, retinopathy, a right-sided inguinal hernia, a hydrocele, cleft palate, osteopenia of prematurity, polycystic kidney disease and sepsis.

He spent long months connected to a respirator. He underwent intestinal resection surgery. He also had a broken arm.

Today, Olivier is almost 14 months old and needs intensive treatment and rehabilitation. Unfortunately, the latter is not reimbursed.
