The tournament, organised by the County Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec, features 10 teams, including representatives of the Voivodeship Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Wrocław and city and county headquarters from Lower Silesia. The favourites are the firefighters’ team from Żagań (Lubusz Voivodeship). The Bolesławiec headquarters has entered two teams.
– For the first time, we are hosting a team made up of volunteer firefighters from Czerna and Ujazd, who are promoting the “Emergency Corridor” social campaign – says junior brigadier Piotr Pilarczyk, deputy head of the County Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec.
The tournament participants also include sponsors and firefighters from Ukraine. – The aim of the tournament is to integrate the firefighting community – adds P. Pilarczyk. – But we also know that every firefighter must be physically fit. Football is part of physical fitness training. A tournament like this inspires a fighting spirit, provides an opportunity to compete and to test oneself.
