The Franciscan friar Father Kasper Mariusz Kaproń described his impressions on Facebook after returning to the country following several years of missionary work in South America.

A month has already passed since I began my holiday stay in Poland, and I have to admit that the reality I encounter […] is much more depressing than I had previously imagined. […] In Poland, we are dealing with a Church of rules, righteous indignation and canonical admonitions, where an article featuring an image of Edward Munch’s nude Madonna is considered a greater sin and scandal than the rampant sins of division in society, widespread hate and even envy. [...] A Halloween pumpkin provokes greater activity among Christians and is seen as a serious threat, while the fact that frost is coming and homeless people on the streets have nothing to eat or a place to warm themselves—and that any night may be their last—is not.

Father Kasper Mariusz Kaproń also mentioned Artura Kapronia, the bodybuilding priest from Osiecznica.

The case of the bodybuilding priest or the priest (Boniecki—editor’s note) who was photographed with an LGBT sign is dealt with through canonical admonitions rather than by going out for a beer together and explaining the matter to each other.

Do you agree with Father Kasper’s observations?
